Local Places & Locally Made: Edna Valley Wine Tasting

March 21, 2009 YOU are cordially invited to tag along with us on our afternoon touring some of Edna Valley's award-winning wineries...

A warning:  This tour is not for the faint-hearted.  We experienced 8, yes EIGHT, wineries in about 5 hours.  Our friends' most recent wine tasting tour was in California's Napa Valley...where it can take 20-30 minutes to travel between wineries.  Not for us Central Coastians!  San Luis Obispo's South County boasts 3000 acres of vineyards, and is growing everyday...and this can mean mere minutes of travel from one winery to the next.

Oh yes, this is a dangerous venture.  Somebody had to do it...luckily I had some volunteers...and I gladly documented most of our beautiful afternoon.

Special thanks to:  Kynsi, Wolff, Saucelito, Tolosa, Baileyana Tangent, Domaine Alfred, Edna Valley, and Clayborne & Churchill Vineyards, and also Old Edna Deli!

By the way, I told my participants that I was counting on a re-enactment of that great spit bucket scene from Sideways:

...alas it never happened.  Cheer up, kids...there's always next year!!!!
