Something in the oven...

Yes, I admit it.  I'm in love with another.  Fortunately, my husband feels a similar admiration for this one as well.  PIZZA is the ultimate dish to make use of anything and everything in your refrigerator, and I can't think of many other smells that are better to come home to.  The beauty of these little pies is that there is absolutely no excuse not to make one...even if you're out of cheese, sauce or the classic pepperoni topping.  Pizza's blank canvas allows our inner chef's creativity to shine through and, as in my case, you might be pleasantly surprised by the results (hint: Rosemary).

On my menu are two choices of PIZZA LOVE:  A twist on the classic sausage and cheese - Rosemary Soy Sausage Pizza, and a Pesto Veggie Pizza topped with peppery arugula from my fall planting.  Oh, about the dough...life is too short sometimes to make pizza dough...Trader Joe's Whole Wheat dough is outrageously good, and blessedly simple (and sinfully cheap).

Actually, there was a third pizza made this day...YES I ate pizza for lunch and dinner.  I couldn't help myself.  Dinner was our first attempt at BBQ Chicken Pizza, and it was beyond our wildest dreams.  What made this dish was carmelized onions layered on a spread of BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Rays, helloooo), diced BBQ'd chicken breast all topped with a mixture of mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese.  I can't tell you how good it was (so maybe I did have a leftover piece for lunch today...it was shameful to let it go to waste!).
